The Finding a Balance: Prevention of Diabetes and Its Complications (FAB) curriculum, developed by FNEC, uses the Healthy Diabetes Plate approach to eating that can help participants prevent diabetes, or prevent complication of diabetes.
The curriculum is designed for people with pre-diabetes/Type 2 diabetes and their caregivers. The curriculum is made up of 9 sessions (approximately 1 to 1.5 hours each). Sessions feature:
- Delicious, affordable recipes
- Ideas for accessible physical activities
- Time to practice real-world skills, like goal setting and label reading
- Communication techniques that can help with developing a strong support system (including healthcare providers, family and friends)
